The most moist, spicy, and flavorful turkey burger you will ever have. The quinoa gives the ground turkey the texture of a beef burger! Serve on a bun and use whatever favorite burger topping you like!

Directions

Instructions Checklist
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a glass baking dish with aluminum foil.

  • Bring water and quinoa to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until quinoa is tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool.

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir onion until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  • Combine cooked quinoa, onion mixture, 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, eggs, barbeque sauce, hot sauce, seasoned salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Whisk together. Add ground turkey and mix well with hands. Form patties and place in the prepared baking dish.

  • Mix remaining 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar together in a bowl to make a paste. Spoon on top of the patties.

  • Bake patties in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center, 35 to 45 minutes.

Cook's Notes:

You can form large patties for regular burgers or small patties for sliders; they do not shrink or expand.

I love to pre-make these burgers in the morning and then just pop them in the oven when I get home from work. They go great with red onion, tomato, iceberg lettuce, mustard, and a slice of pickle! You can even make them into sliders as an appetizer!

I thought this was quite good although I only used 1.25 pounds of turkey which was a mistake. I should have cut the wet part in half. Because I didn't I had to make this into a meatloaf. But it was still delightful! The hot sauce adds a nice kick. I did reduce the pepper to 1 tsp and the seasoned salt to 1 tsp as well. And I didn't use onions. Instead I added onion powder and just put the garlic (3 cloves) right in with everything else. The quinoa really is a nice touch and I will definitely make this again. Read More

I did not make any changes except to only add one tablespoon of the hot sauce and my family loved these turkey burgers I was surprised they didn't fall apart because forming the patties was difficult. The patty mix is very moist. I may add a quarter cup of bread crumbs next time. I also thought they'd be soggy after baking but they weren't. I cooked them the full 45 minutes and they were browned on top and easy to remove for on buns. Read More

The whole family loved this - patties were more wet than I thought they should be - but when they cooked up they were fantastic! Read More

Really good recipe, great texture and flavorful! I halved the recipe and it made 8 burgers. I used a bit more quinoa than it called for and I pan fried instead of baking. Read More
